FIREFLY Programs and Services

At FIREFLY, we provide a wide range of rehabilitation, diagnostic, and support programs to help children and youth and their families. We know how important it is to feel supported if you are a child or youth who needs help, or are working with or caring for a child or youth with complex needs. Our team works to assess and develop individualized plans that support growth in key areas, including:

Self-Care Skills: Supporting independence in daily activities such as feeding and swallowing, toileting, and dressing, as well as developing play skills like interacting with peers and exploring various toys and objects.
Early Learning & Development: Conducting screenings and assessments to identify developmental needs early and provide targeted interventions.
Fine and Gross Motor Skills: Helping children with foundational skills like printing, using scissors, learning to roll, sit, walk, jump and climb!
Gross Motor & Movement Skills: Encouraging physical development through activities like rolling, crawling, sitting, walking, jumping, and climbing.
Communication & Social Skills: Enhancing a child’s ability to express needs and wants, develop speech and language skills, manage stuttering, and follow social cues and directions.
Adaptive Equipment & Assistive Technology: Recommending and providing specialized equipment to support mobility, communication, and independence at home and school.
Mental Health: Providing services for children and youth with emotional, behavioural, or mental health challenges. We also support parents and caregivers with programs and resources.
Sensory and Emotional Development: Supporting children to explore and make sense of their unique sensory experiences, while fostering security, belonging, and resilience in ways that support their well-being and development.
Family and Community Partnership: Partnering with families and community service providers to support coordinated, strengths-based approaches that enhance understanding, inclusion, and continuity of care across settings.

Our support is flexible and meaningful, working alongside families and communities to reduce barriers and help children and youth participate fully in everyday life. Guided by hope and integrity, we tailor our approach to each family so that growth, resilience, and inclusion are possible.
