FIREFLY is actively looking for volunteers to join our Board of Directors. As a member, you’ll help shape the direction of services that support children, youth, and families across our region.
So, what’s involved with being a board member?
FIREFLY’s Board of Directors governs in the best interests of the organization, ensuring that FIREFLY succeeds in delivering on our mission and vision of healthy people, resilient families, and vibrant communities. Each director is responsible to act honestly, in good faith and in the best interests of FIREFLY.
The Board meets one evening each month from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., excluding July and August. Directors also participate on one standing committee. On average, the annual time commitment is approximately 30 hours of your time each year. Board meetings rotate in person across the region in the spring, summer and early fall, and are held virtually during the winter months. While in-person participation is encouraged, virtual attendance (via Microsoft Teams) is always an option.
We’re committed to building a strong, effective, and engaged Board, and ongoing Board development is a key priority.
