For ages 6-11
Stop Now and Plan (S.N.A.P.)®
SNAP® teaches children ages 6-11 and their families impulse control, emotion regulation and problem-solving skills – it is proven to help kids stay in school and out of trouble. If you and your child need help making better choices “in-the-moment”, we can help.
The FIREFLY SNAP Program currently operates in the Kenora area. Based on the success of the Kenora pilot project evaluation – and in partnership with SNAP’s National Expansion Project - FIREFLY is pleased to announce the expansion of the SNAP® program to our sites in Dryden, Sioux Lookout and Red Lake!
“SNAP® helped our family work better as a team.”
“I would recommend the SNAP® program to other parents in the same boat as me; it helped me improve the relationship I have with my child.”
“This is an amazing program! Not only did it help with relations between myself and my child, but it gave me tools to deal with issues in my everyday life.”
“For all you fathers out there who struggle with the idea of out of home aid (counselling), this program was really helpful and quite enjoyable to attend…I would recommend this program to everyone.”
This project is funded through Public Safety Canada’s Nation Crime Prevention Strategy and supported by community partners Keewatin-Patricia District School Board, Kenora Catholic District School Board and the Ontario Provincial Police.
