Thursday, April 2 is World Autism Day. In Canada we\u2019ve take this movement from \u201cawareness\u201d to \u201cacceptance\u201d. So, what exactly does that mean? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s about embracing and valuing the unique perspectives and abilities of autism people. It challenges stereotypes, reduces stigma, and empowers individuals to express themselves confidently. Just being \u201caware\u201d of autism is no longer enough, we\u2019re asking you to join with us as we look to create spaces where autistic people are respected, included, and supported for who they are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are many ways you can show support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Donate to the FIREFLY endowment fund or Autism Ontario. Your support makes a vital difference in the lives of the people and families we help. Cliquez ici<\/a> to learn more about the FIREFLY Endowment Fund and cliquez ici<\/a> to donate to Autism Ontario.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Commit to making a difference. Take a look at the learning resources offered by Autism Ontario<\/a> ou Autism Canada<\/a> to understand how you can make your space better for autistic children, youth and adults. But remember everyone is unique and is their own expert on what they need!<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Wear tie dye on April 2! Show your support rocking your tie dye in honour of Autism Ontario\u2019s campaign Celebrate the Spectrum.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Head to our social media @fireflynw on both Facebook and Instagram and share our posts! Let\u2019s decorate social media in tie dye tomorrow!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
