FIREFLY is excited to share that we are expanding our Care for the Caregiver event and will be hosting two sessions in Fort Frances and Dryden this November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This free in-person gathering is designed for&nbsp;<strong>anyone who is, or has been, a caregiver or family member<\/strong>&nbsp;of a child, youth, or young adult. You do NOT need to be accessing (or have previously accessed) FIREFLY services. See below for event locations, dates and times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What to Expect<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This gathering will include \u2013 Speakers &amp; Educators that can Support, Educate and Empower the Caregiver:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Guided peer conversations\u00a0and sharing circles.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Voices of lived experience\u00a0from local caregivers and professionals.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Opportunities for informal connection and reflection.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connect with others who truly understand the caregivers journey.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hear stories and strategies from local caregivers and professionals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Build community with people walking similar path.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leave feeling support, seen and empowered.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether you\u2019re a parent, sibling, grandparent, aunt, uncle, or informal caregiver,&nbsp;<strong>you are welcome here<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the registration form you\u2019ll also be able to specify if a travel stipend for those coming from out of town would help facilitate your attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why It Matters<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Caregivers give so much\u2014but who supports the caregiver? Thanks to funding from the Knowledge Institute, this event is part of our continued commitment to family engagement, peer support, and building stronger caregiver networks across the Kenora-Rainy River District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>RoxAnne Daignault, Parenting Mental Health Support Worker at FIREFLY, speaks from both lived experience and years of peer support:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs caregivers, we often struggle in silence and feel alone.
