We heard you\u2014and we\u2019re responding with something special. FIREFLY is proud to host our first-ever <strong>Care for the Caregiver <\/strong>event, taking place in Kenora on<strong> Tuesday, May 27, from 1:00\u20134:00 p.m.<\/strong> at Seven Generations Education Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This free in-person gathering is designed for <strong>anyone who is, or has been, a caregiver or family member<\/strong> of a child, youth, or young adult. You do NOT need to be accessing (or have previously accessed) FIREFLY services<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What to Expect<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This gathering will include &#8211; Speakers &amp; Educators that can Support, Educate and Empower the Caregiver:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Guided peer conversations&nbsp;and sharing circles.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Voices of lived experience&nbsp;from local caregivers and professionals.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Opportunities for informal connection and reflection.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connect with others who truly understand the caregivers journey.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hear stories and strategies from local caregivers and professionals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Build community with people walking similar path.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leave feeling support, seen and empowered.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether you&#8217;re a parent, sibling, grandparent, aunt, uncle, or informal caregiver, <strong>you are welcome here<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the registration form you\u2019ll also be able to specify if childcare and\/or a travel stipend for those coming from out of town would help facilitate your attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why It Matters<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Caregivers give so much\u2014but who supports the caregiver? Thanks to funding from the Knowledge Institute, this event is part of our continued commitment to family engagement, peer support, and building stronger caregiver networks across the Kenora-Rainy River District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>RoxAnne Daignault, Parenting Mental Health Support Worker at FIREFLY, speaks from both lived experience and years of peer support:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs caregivers, we often struggle in silence and feel alone.
